About this deal

The lashes: The Gabbi lashes aim to create a full, fanned out effect. No glue is included, so we used Sweed’s Clear Adhesive. We love the look of fake lashes, but applying them? Not so much. There’s something beautifully uncomplicated about a perfectly placed set of falsies, softly framing the eyes and adding that special pop to your face. But it’s funny how the most difficult of tasks can appear so darn effortless (if you do it right). But apply false lashes incorrectly and not only will your whole look be a bit off, but you might also find yourself in a tiny bit (or a lot) of discomfort. Use clean hands and gently peel the strip away from your lids. If you’re struggling, soak a cotton pad in an oil-based make-up remover and hold it over each eye for 20-30 seconds to loosen the glue. Wearing false lashes with a subpar glue is an exercise in futility. Even if you’re not using them everyday, it’s still so important to use the right adhesive so the lashes last all night. Plus, some glues can cause any unnecessary irritation around your sensitive eyes. The verdict: Testers liked these ‘natural’, ‘realistic’ and ‘eye-enhancing’ lashes, with most agreeing they’d happily wear them all day. The majority of testers (85%) found them comfortable and light during use. There were no qualms with the glue’s consistency either.

The verdict: The majority of testers (76%) were pleased with the natural lengthening look of these, feeling that they enhanced the shape of their eyes. Their delicate appearance was appreciated, but some felt it made them slightly difficult to position. Once in place, however, they felt light and comfortable. Testers reported that the glue was easy to apply, dried in good time and gave enough breathing space to position the lashes precisely. The lashes: With their 'V' shaped design, these lashes are designed to add volume. No glue is included, so we used the Tartiest Pro Lash adhesive. The lashes: These falsies are designed to increase length and volume while being subtle and delicate enough for everyday wear. It’s not advisable to wear strip lashes for over 24 hours as they weigh down your natural ones and could trap potentially eye-irritating bacteria. How do I remove and clean my false strip lashes?Unlike strip and individual flare options, these can only be applied by a salon professional. Individual strands are applied to the lash line and secured with semi-permanent adhesive.

The verdict: Three quarters of testers liked the way they looked and said they were comfortable to wear. They were easy to position on the lash line and remained in place with the glue used. The lashes were easy to remove at the end of the day and retained their shape well after cleaning. A lot of my friends are performers and they prefer to use weave bonding glue as opposed to labeled eyelash adhesive. The reasons I've gotten is that the lashes last longer and wear through just about anything; including sweating, water, and intense motion (dancing etc). Also, the weave bonding glue has a dark color, so it makes the lash look more "natural" because the base is dark like your eyelash base. I've also been told that the weave bonding glue is more cleanly removed from the false lash base so that when they are reapplied, they don't look all haggard and gross at the base. The verdict: Eighty-three percent of testers rated these lashes, praising how lightweight and comfortable they felt to wear. There were no issues with the glue, either – 86% of testers thought it worked well.

Using a tweezer, hold the lashes and dab on a thin line of glue to the lash band with a Q-Tip. A dark glue will blend into your eyeliner better, but worry not: The standard-issue white stuff will dry clear. Keep collections to yourself or inspire other shoppers! Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections—they may also appear in recommendations and other places.Ah, so true, Azia. =] I've never had a problem with the regular eyelash adhesive, so I'm not sure I'll be trying this anytime soon but I was just so curious. The lashes: These subtle faux mink lashes give a fluffy, curled finish. No glue is included, so we tested them with the brand’s Double Act Strip Lash Adhesive. The verdict: Eighty percent of testers liked these lashes, praising the natural design that enhanced their real lashes. They retained their shape well after cleaning between wears.
